NUSO's aim is for children and young people to have enough and good quality play space. This is indispensable for the development of children and young people. NUSO, Speelruimte Nederland devotes itself to develop and maintain a policy that results in good quality play facilities for all children, that are according to all safety regulations . NUSO focuses on a wide area with play and movement possibilities for children and young people. Playgrounds are important in this. They are of a huge value to children and young people that want to play outside and play sports. The playground is more than a ground to play on. It is a meeting point where connections are made between children and adults of different backgrounds in their neighbourhood.

NUSO devotes itself from that point to make better outdoor play facilities for children and young people. This improves the physical and mental health of children and young people and improves the quality of live in the neighbourhoods. To achieve this we provide:

1. Support to playgrounds and work and children holiday organizations.

2. Advice to for example councils about play policy ies and the quality of life in districts.

3. Advocacy, lobbying for more and better places to play in the direction of national and local governments and social organizations.

There are more than 700 playgrounds and organization for holidays for children part of the NUSO. About 40.000 volunteers are active and devote themselves to giving over 2 million children a save and challenging place to play. NUSO supports the organizations with a wide package of services, such as, looking after their interests, advice, information and collective arrangements and insurances support.
